In this episode Christopher discusses that though "Shemos" means "Names" it is important to know this is not talking about the sacred name movement nor is it promoting it. Christopher looks at Luke 2 for the answers on this in terms of Shimon HaTzadik whom circumcised Yeshua and his history and is there only the 4 letter name of God mentioned in the Hebrew side of the page? Actually there are 218 names for God in the entire Bible and 215 in the Old Testament, not just one based on a 4 letter Yod Hey Waw (aka Vav) and a Hey. Christopher also discusses Exodus 4:10-11 in terms of something Messianics and Pentecostals get wrong all the time saying something is from Satan when it is actually something from God. This also plays into the dangers of the sacred name cults.
In this week's parsha Christopher has some computer issues so he edited the 2 hour recording for the week from "The PaRDeS Radio Torah Portions" and edited it for 56 minute Torah Portions for Christians to center around the idea of Messiah ben Yosef which comes from Sukkos 52a in the Talmud and talks about the coming Messiah Yeshua from the story of Joseph. And Christopher shows those parallels.
In this episode Christopher looks at many of the things some find confusing especially in the first verse of the portion in terms of the word melechim. Christopher also discusses the why Jacob offered Esau many animals, and does this help us see a bit in terms of calendar?
Also we tie 1 Corinthians 5 all together with the proper context from the reading within the Torah and how in Chapter 33 we see the name of the Messiah encrypted 3 times in the chapter in 2 verses.
In this week's teaching Christopher discusses the display of the Yetzer Hara vs the Yetzer Tov in this week's Parsha and how believers in Yeshua/Jesus must realize this about themselves and the attributes of the two. Christopher also discusses the birthright and what it represents.
Christopher discusses the parsha Chayeia Sarah (Genesis 23:1-25:18, 1 Kings 1:1-31, Matthew 8:19-22, and Luke 9:37-62) in terms of death, what it signifies in Judaism and how someone using the example of Abraham would go about in honoring a loved one who has passed on. We also see how this directly parallels our relationship with Yeshua (Jesus) as well.
In this week's Torah Portions for Christians, Christopher discusses the importance of hospitality and how it is a Torah principle and how it is the foundation of keeping the commandments of God. In the second segment Christopher discusses how Lot offering up his daughters aligns with Zechariah 14:1-5 and the returning of Yeshua (Jesus) through the Semitic Threshold Covenant.
Christopher discusses circumcision in the context of Genesis and Romans chapter 3-4 as well as why a Tzaddik (Abram) had to fall and how it is for the glory of God. Plus the hidden mystery of the yodh in Sarai's name being lifted and Christopher discovers where it went. All this and much more.
Christopher discusses the bent and the upright nun and tzade found in the Hebrew of the Torah Portion Noach and points out why it changed. Also discussed is reason for the rainbow in terms of covenant and why God chose a rainbow as a sign and how it relates to marriage covenant. In the 2nd half of the show Christoper discusses the most misinterpreted verse in the New Testament and how it relates to Noah, some claim it is evidence of a "pre-trib rapture" however Christopher shows how it is 100% not the case by investigating other verses as well as the parallel that Yeshua/Jesus himself showed as being a parallel to Noah.
